Chronology Of Arya Daru Pangayunan, Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Employee Died By Lakban

YOGYAKARTA Young diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arya Daru Pangayunan, became a victim of a mysterious murder. The 39-year-old man was found dead in Menteng boarding house, Central Jakarta with his head and face wrapped in duct tape. The news of the death of the young diplomat then drew attention. One of the things that became the subject of discussion was the chronology of the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan with tragic conditions.

The death of diplomat Arya is still a mystery. The reason is, the victim was found dead in his room. Related to this, the police have also told the chronology of Arya's discovery who has died.

Reporting from Antara, Menteng Sector Police Chief Commissioner Rezha Rahandhi explained that the finder of Arya's body was a boarding house guard. Initially, the victim's wife, who had difficulty contacting the victim by telephone, asked the boarding house guard for help to check on Arya.

The boarding house keeper then knocked on the victim's room but there was no response. Finally, the guard forcibly opened the door to the victim's room. From there, it was found that the victim was dead on the bed. Finding this, the boarding house guard then reported it to the police.

"We received reports from residents regarding the discovery of a man who died in a boarding room in the Gondangdia area," explained Central Jakarta Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his official statement, Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

The police team then immediately conducted an examination of Arya Daru's body. When found, the condition of Arya Daru's body was quite alarming. Arya's head was found wrapped in duct tape. Not only that, Arya's body was also covered with a blanket with a position lying on the bed.

The condition of the victim's head which was wrapped in duct tape with a blanket covered in his body then became the public's attention. Arya Daru's murder reminded him of the Yakuza murder technique that covered the victim's head with duct tape.

The police are currently conducting an investigation. For the time being, no signs of violence have been found on the victim's body. In addition, the victim's belongings have not been indicated missing.

Arya Daru's death was then linked with the big case he had handled. As a diplomat, Arya was indeed required to help deal with foreign cases involving Indonesian citizens (WNI). One of the cases he was involved in was the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).

The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, admitted that Arya had handled the TIP case. In this case Arya gave testimony as a witness.

"The deceased was a witness in the TIP case in Japan, but it's been a long time, the case has been resolved," said Judha.

Unfortunately, Judha did not specify the case that Arya was handling. He only explained that the case was over.

"It's been a long time since the case has been completed as far as I know," said Judha when met in Yogyakarta, Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The TIP case had indeed blown widely. The case involved several countries in Southeast Asia, especially in Cambodia. In fact, many Indonesian citizens were victims of the Cambodian TIP case.

Reporting from Antanews, Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding even said that Indonesia did not cooperate in placing migrant workers in Cambodia. This happened because of the vulnerability of TIP cases in the country.

"Again, I declare that it is not just an appeal, prohibiting all Indonesian citizens from working in the three countries because they are prone to criminal acts of trafficking in persons (TPPO)," said Karding, quoted on Thursday, July 10.
