JAKARTA - Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anis Matta discussed increasing economic cooperation to investment during a visit to Croatia.
On this occasion, Deputy Foreign Minister Anis and delegation held a bilateral meeting with the State Secretary for Croatian Political Affairs Frano Matusic, in Zagreb, Tuesday.
"This meeting is part of a series of visits by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to Croatia which aims to strengthen relations and strategic cooperation that is of common interest and benefits the two countries," said the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, Wednesday, July 9.
"Both parties discussed efforts to increase cooperation in various fields, especially the economy, labor and investment," the ministry continued.
Croatia's economy has advanced significantly since joining the European Union (2013) and Eurozone (2023), and to support this growth, Croatia requires large numbers of foreign workers.
The ministry said Croatia offers job opportunities for skilled Indonesian Migrant Workers, especially in the construction and hospitality sectors.
Croatia also offers cooperation in the energy sector, considering the country is developing a gas and oil pipeline network to become an energy supply hub to the region.
In addition, Croatia also offers its strategic ports, such as Rijeka, as the gateway for Indonesia's main products to the European market.
