Prosecutor's Office Involves BSSN To Check The Corruption Electronic Barbuk Of PT Pos Indonesia Bengkulu Branch

The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) involves the National Forensic Laboratory through the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) in investigating cases of alleged corruption of individuals at the Bengkulu branch of the PT Pos Indonesia Office.

The investigation and examination was carried out by the BSSN National Forensic Laboratory on electronic evidence (barbuk) that had been confiscated by the investigative team during a forced search of the office.

"We have submitted electronic evidence to the National Forum for BSSN. After the results come out, it will be an important part to strengthen the elements in this case," said Head of the Investigation Section of the Bengkulu Special Prosecutor's Office, Danang Prasetyo, in Bengkulu City, Sunday.

If the verification process and analysis of electronic data by the National Forensic Laboratory are slow, his party will carry out an escort in the field to ensure the smooth running of the process.

He said that currently the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office is also calculating state losses due to the alleged corruption case of individuals within the Bengkulu Branch of PT Pos Indonesia Office.

The alleged corruption is related to the cuts and misuse of stampai funds and public pension funds that occurred from 2022 to 2024.

"Complete funds and public pension funds should be deposited to the center. However, they should not be used by individuals at the Bengkulu Branch of the Indonesian Post Office," said Danang.

He said the unlawful act occurred because of inappropriate fund management. Funds from stamps and pensions were not deposited into the center and were allegedly misappropriated. In fact, there are still many other pieces that are not reported.

As a result of the alleged corruption, the state is currently estimated to have suffered losses of up to billions of rupiah. However, the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office is still in the process of calculating.

On the other hand, the investigation team of the Bengkulu Special Prosecutor's Office has examined dozens of witnesses and will soon determine the suspect in the case.

Previously, on Friday, June 20, 2025, the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office investigator team conducted a search at the PT Pos Indonesia Bengkulu Branch office regarding allegations of abuse in financial management.

Danang said the forced search was carried out because of indications of irregularities in legal acts and abuse of authority in financial management. During the search, investigators confiscated a number of documents, computers, and other items suspected of being related to the alleged corruption case.
