CFN Canceled Held, Pramono Says He Doesn't Want To Disturb Hotel Business

JAKARTA - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said the reason for the cancellation of the Car Free Night (CFN), today, was because he did not want to interfere with the hotel business.

According to him, if CFN continues to be held on Saturday, July 4, one of the mechanisms carried out is road closure. This will interfere with vehicle mobility.

"The principle is that I don't want Car Free Day that night to disturb hotels that then receive guests for weddings which are usually just finished at 10 pm," Pramono told reporters, Saturday, July 5.

In addition, CFN will also coincide with the Jakarta Muharram Festival 2025 which will be enlivened by the implementation of the torch relay.

Therefore, Pramono has coordinated with the committee not to close the road. Thus, the mobility of vehicles around the location will not be disturbed much.

"Frankly, I then asked the committee not to close the road, because if it closes the road, especially Thamrin Street, Gatot Subroto Street will definitely be very disturbing and that will be very disturbing from the afternoon," he said.

Moreover, on Sunday 6 July, another major activity will be held, namely pencak silat in order to break Indonesia's record in the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout area. So, if the road is closed over the weekend, it will greatly disrupt community activities.

"If it's closed from Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday, it's really excited, so I said, it's okay for Car Free Day, we will examine it in depth," said Pramono.
