PAMEKASAN - Pamekasan Police, East Java, arrested the perpetrators of the expedition courier abuse when the victim delivered the package to the perpetrator's place on June 30.

"We have secured the perpetrator, and are currently undergoing investigation," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Hendra Eko Triyulianto as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 2.

The perpetrator with the initials AR is a grocery store entrepreneur on Jalan Raya, Laden Village, Pamekasan.

Police acted quickly after the video of the abuse case went viral on various social media platforms.

"But the cause of this case is not because it is viral, but because we do have a commitment to handle it quickly in order to provide certainty to the community," said the police chief.

The expedition courier who was a victim of abuse by the grocery store entrepreneur was named Irwan Sisiyanto (27) from Bringah Hamlet, Dasok Village, Pademawu District, Pamekasan Regency.

This man became a victim of abuse by a grocery store entrepreneur with the initials AR while delivering the package to the address of the perpetrator's shop on Jalan Desa Laden, Pamekasan, Monday (30/6/2025) at around 10.45 WIB.

Irwan admitted that the package in the form of a purchase of cell phones to one of the online store stalls was worth Rp. 1,589,235 with the on-site payment system (COD).

At that time, the package was received and opened by the perpetrator's wife, but was deemed not according to orders and the wife asked for the money to be returned.

But the request was rejected by the victim, because the person concerned was only a courier, and in accordance with the provisions, the cancellation of the purchase must be made through the application.

However, at that time, AR immediately tortured the victim, causing the victim's mouth to bleeding.

The victim tried to explain to the perpetrator, regarding the technique of returning the goods purchased at the online shop, but the perpetrator did not want to care, until finally the victim was forced to obey the perpetrator's wishes, namely returning the money he had received.

"Instead of being strangled to death, I had to return the money, even though the process of returning goods purchased online was not like that," said Irwan when reporting to the Pamekasan Police Headquarters.
