BMKG: Most Of Indonesia Is Forecasted To Rain Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that the weather in most parts of Indonesia on Wednesday is expected to be dominated by rain with various intensities, followed by cloudy weather in several areas.

BMKG weather forecaster Raeni Chindi said that for Sumatra Island, the potential for rain with various intensities is in Tanjung Pinang, Medan, Palembang, and the potential for driving rain is in Pekanbaru, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.

Meanwhile, in Banda Aceh, it is estimated that the weather is cloudy, while Padang, Bengkulu, and Jambi are expected to be thick cloudy.

For Java Island, continued Raeni, Surabaya is estimated to be thick cloudy and most of Java Island is forecasted for light rain.

As for Kalimantan, he said, it is estimated that it will be thick cloudy for the cities of Pontianak and Samarinda, and it is estimated that it will receive light rain in Palangka Raya and Banjarmasin.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning for the city of Tanjung Selor," said Raeni, Wednesday, June 7.

Then, he continued, for Sulawesi Island, light rain is estimated for Makassar, Mamuju, and Gorontalo, and moderate rain is forecast for the cities of Palu, Kendari and Manado.

In Eastern Indonesia, he said, it is predicted that thick clouds in Manokwari, light rain for Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, and Jayapura, and it is estimated that moderate rain is for the city of Jayawijaya.
