Prabowo: In The Middle Of A Conflict-filled World, Indonesia Chooses Peace And Collaboration

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the Indonesian region is in a peaceful condition in the midst of a world situation marked by conflict.

This was conveyed by the President in his remarks at the inauguration of the groundbreaking for the construction of the Electric Vehicle Battery Industry Ecosystem project Integrated by the ANTAM-IBC-CBL Consortium in the Artha Industrial Hills (AIH) area, Karawang, West Java, Sunday, June 29.

"I congratulate all elements and thank our friends from CATL from China, I think this collaboration is very important and beneficial for all parties. In the midst of a world full of conflict, our area is full of peace," said Prabowo.

According to the President, no prosperity can be achieved without peace. Therefore, Indonesia always chooses cooperation and collaboration in establishing international relations.

President Prabowo said that Indonesia always prioritizes the middle way and upholds friendship above hostilities.

The Head of State cited a philosophy from China stating that a thousand friends were still too few, while one opponent was too many.

"There are too few friends, there are too many opponents. This is the Chinese philosophy I take over," said the President.

Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the project, including partners from China.

The President considers the cooperation established as an important and mutually beneficial form of strategic collaboration in the midst of global challenges that occur.

Prabowo added that this project is proof of the government's seriousness in encouraging the energy transition. Through this collaboration, Indonesia targets the development of renewable and environmentally friendly energy.

"We are partnering with our brothers and sisters from China. We can work together with programs that I think include being colossal, it can be said that breakthroughs are extraordinary. From here we can produce renewable and environmentally friendly energy that the whole world aspires to," said the President.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Housing and Settlement Area Maruarar Sirait, Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi, and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong.

This battery industry project is a collaboration between PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM), Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), and the CATL, Brunp, and Lygend (CBL) Consortium.

This electric vehicle battery project was developed from upstream to downstream with a total of six subprojects, five of which are located in East Halmahera and one in Karawang.

As part of the National Strategic Project (PSN), the project's investment value reaches 5.9 billion US dollars (around Rp95 trillion) and covers an area of 3,023 hectares, with the potential for employment of up to 8,000 people, as well as the development of 18 infrastructure projects, including multifunctional piers.

This project is also designed to be environmentally friendly with the use of a combination of energy such as PLTU 2x150 MW, PLTG 80 MW, a generator of 30 MW of hot waste, and solar power of 172 MWp including 24 MWp at the Karawang factory.
