JAKARTA - Air India flights from Mumbai to Chennai were forced to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport, after the smell of burning in the cabin. Air India flight with flight number AI 639 also managed to land safely in Mumbai.

A passenger posted on social media that the plane took off at 23.50 local time. After flying about 45 minutes, the captain announced that they would return to Mumbai due to technical problems.
"We landed safely at around 00.47 in the morning," said the passenger, Utsav Tiwari.
