Presiden Prabowo: Dengan Energi Tenaga Surya Setiap Daerah Bisa Swasembada Energi

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said that renewable energy, especially solar energy, has an important role in realizing self-sufficiency in energy down to the village level.

He said this when inaugurating the operation and construction of a number of geothermal power plants (PLTP) and solar power plants (PLTS) spread across 15 provinces, via video conference, Thursday, June 26.

"What is very strategic later is renewable energy, especially energy from solar power. With solar energy each village can self-sufficiency in energy, each sub-district can self-sufficiency in energy, each district can self-sufficiency in energy, remote islands will have energy," Prabowo said, confiscated by Antara.

Prabowo assessed that the use of solar power is considered capable of providing equal access to electricity, including in remote islands and mountainous areas.

The President received reports regarding the large reserves of national oil and gas as well as the availability of technology that allows the acceleration of the development of energy projects.

"This really makes us optimistic to make us look at the future very bright," he said.

Prabowo said the government would jointly calculate elements of the government, the private sector, and foreign partners to continue the program towards national energy self-sufficiency.

These efforts are also directed to support the carbon emission reduction target to reach zero carbon emissions according to the planned schedule, namely by 2060.

It is known that President Prabowo inaugurated the operation and construction of a number of geothermal power plants (PLTP) and solar power plants (PLTS) spread across 15 provinces.

The President said the inauguration of the operation and construction of PLTP and PLTS in the 15 provinces was an effort for Indonesia to self-sufficiency in energy.

According to him, the independence of a nation is determined by the nation's ability to feed its people and ensure a decent life and livelihood for its nation. Related to this, energy has an important role for the life of the nation in the 21st century.

The President is grateful that Indonesia has the potential for extraordinary renewable energy sources and the potential for wealth must be managed properly.

Prabowo also emphasized that the inauguration and construction of 55 new and renewable energy plants is proof that Indonesia is heading for independence.

"We will stand on our own feet and we will be able to provide energy to all Indonesians in an efficient and economical situation," said the Head of State.
