Bripka Police Cellphone Who Extorted Students Examined By Propam Polrestabes Surabaya

Surabaya Police Propam conducted an examination of the Head Police Brigadier (Bripka) HP related to the alleged extortion of two students in the Pondok Candra area, Sidoarjo, East Java.

"The person concerned is being questioned at the Surabaya Police Propam," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Surabaya Police AKP Rina Shanti as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 26.

Currently, he said, Bripka HP has been placed in the Surabaya Police Special Placement Cell (Patsus) and is undergoing further examination.

Previously, Bripka HP was reported on suspicion of extortion of two students, KV (23) and RA (23), which occurred on Thursday (19/6) night. At that time, the two victims had just exited the Tambak Sumur toll gate after attending a wedding in Krian, Sidoarjo.

On Jalan Pondok Candra, their car had a minor collision with a motorcycle rider. After confirming the condition of the vehicle, the two were approached by Bripka HP wearing a police uniform and a colleague dressed in civilian clothes.

Bripka HP admitted that he was carrying out joint operations with the TNI, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and journalists.

One of the perpetrators accused the victim of immoral acts, Bripka HP then got into the victim's car and forced RA to sit in the front seat, while KV was transferred to the back seat. The two victims were then taken around the East Surabaya area.

When he arrived in front of the East Java Police Headquarters, Bripka HP actually offered a peaceful settlement by asking for money between Rp. 7 million and Rp. 10 million to the victim.

Because the victim did not have this amount of money, both of them were only able to provide Rp. 650 thousand in cash after taking money from an ATM machine at a supermarket in the Jalan Ahmad Yani area.

Not stopping there, Bripka HP also confiscated RA's ATM card and asked for a PIN number as collateral. He gave the payment time until Friday (20/6) at 17.00 WIB, and advised the victim to borrow money through an online loan application.

The request to transfer money was rejected by Bripka HP. He also refused when the victim suggested that the matter be brought to the East Java Police Headquarters.

The extortion ended at around 00.00 WIB and Bripka HP got out of the car after receiving the victim's money and ATM, which then asked the two victims to leave immediately.
