President Prabowo Subianto Affirms National Independence Starting From World Class Education

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the main key to building national independence in various strategic sectors is through world quality education. This affirmation was conveyed by the Head of State while chairing a limited meeting with the relevant ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, June 23.

"President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia will not be able to realize independence in the fields of industry, defense, energy, and technology without being supported by superior human resources trained through a world-class education system," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement received by VOI Tuesday, June 24.

Seskab Teddy explained that the Garuda School was designed as a model of boarding education that carries a national curriculum with the strengthening of global education standards. This program is intended to attract the best young generation from all over Indonesia who have extraordinary potential to continue their education to world-seeded universities.

"Garuda School is a national strategic program designed to prepare the best young generation from all corners of the country to be able to continue their studies at world-seeded universities, and later become the main driver of the nation's progress," said Seskab Teddy.

Selection to enter Garuda School will also be carried out through a very competitive system, based on academic achievement records and competency tests. All students accepted will get full scholarships regardless of social and economic background.

The incoming selection is carried out based on strict achievement records and competency tests, with a full scholarship scheme for all selected students regardless of the socio-economic background," said Seskab Teddy after giving information about President Prabowo Subianto's directives on the importance of world quality education.
