The DKI Provincial Government Admits That It Must Increase The Transportation Subsidy Budget By Hundreds Of Billions For Transjabodetabek

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, admitted that his party must increase the budget allocation for public service obstruction (PSO) for transportation subsidies of PT Transjakarta to hundreds of billions of rupiah this year.

The plan is that the DKI Provincial Government will propose an additional nominal Transjakarta PSO in changes to the 2025 regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD).

"Yes, there will be an addition (transportation subsidy application), around Rp. 300 billion to Rp. 400 billion," Syafrin told reporters, Friday, June 20.

In addition to closing the costs of Transjabodetabek services, the additional PSO budget proposed will also be used to add Transjakarta services to koya.

"The budget is for TransJabodetabek in part and partly for the needs of service in the city. Later there will be services from Ancol to Blok M and several areas needed for direct services," explained Syafrin.

So far, the DKI Provincial Government has provided subsidies of around Rp11,500 for each Transjakarta service passenger with a rate of Rp3,500. Meanwhile, the economic value of Transjakarta services if not subsidized is Rp. 15,000 per passenger.

Since the beginning of his tenure until now, the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung-Rano Karno has started to add Transjabodetabek routes from Jakarta to several buffer areas.

The Transjabodetabek route that has been operating during Pramono-Rano's tenure to date has totaled 5 routes. These include the Alam Sutera-Blok M, PIK2-Blok M, Bogor-Blok M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, and Vida Bekasi-Cawang routes.

Pramono plans to add another 5 Transjabodetabek routes again during 2025. One of the routes that will be opened in the near future is Bekasi-Dukuh Atas.

"In the near future, an additional new route will be launched for Transjabotabek services from the Bekasi Terminal to Dukuh Atas via the Becakayu Toll Road," said Syafrin.
