BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police (Polda) revealed that the practice of hidden conventional casino gambling at an entertainment venue in the Kosambi area, Bandung City, only operated for three days before it was finally raided in the early hours of Tuesday (17/6).

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the raid was based on the results of cyber patrols and public reports of gambling practices at the location.

"There is something interesting about me as the Kapolda because this has only been around three days ago operating. It's a big question for all of us, how come we dare to do that. That's why we don't give a long space, we immediately enforce the law," said Rudi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 18.

Rudi revealed that the place was camouflaged as a means of futsal sports and entertainment venues. But inside, the police found 10 gambling tables and other equipment such as dice, coin replacement money, and supporting electronic equipment.

"This equipment is not made here. It's quite good quality. It turns out to be imported from China. Buy online, bring it in here, then assembled here," he said.

According to him, this gambling place has an area distribution, starting from standard tables with a minimum bet of IDR 300 thousand to VIP rooms with bets ranging from IDR 3 million.

"So gambling here is divided into two rooms, the usual space for ordinary members and one VIP room. Usually this VIP room has a large capital," he said.

The West Java Regional Police named 44 people as suspects after previously securing 63 people in the raid.

The 44 suspects have different roles in these gambling activities.

"There are already suspects with the initials AP and CW, there are approximately 18 players, and the other group is involved in gambling as organizers or operators, such as cashiers, card players. Those are our clusters, the number of suspects is 44 people," he said.
