TULUNGAGUNG - The murderer of Sait Lupriadi (49), a man from Majalengka who was found rotting dead in a bush near the Southern Passage (JLS) or Pansela Tulungagung, East Java, Tuesday, April 27, was finally caught.

The perpetrator was apparently a colleague of the victim himself with the initials SW (31), a resident of Dusun Kulonkali Village RT55 / RW15 Sumbermanjing Kulon Village, Pagak District, Malang.

Tulungagung Police Chief AKBP Handono Subiakto when releasing the case disclosure said the perpetrator was the key witness in this murder case.

SW is known to have traveled with the victim together several times to the Prigi area, Trenggalek. "The two of them were on their way home from the Prigi area and were involved in klethek gambling, but lost around Rp1 million," said the Head of Police as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 3.

The defeat in the klethek gambling was the beginning of a dispute between the victim and the perpetrator. On the way home riding on a motorcycle, the victim Saito repeatedly cursed and called the perpetrator of SW, his partner, as the culprit for the gambling defeat.

Various verbal abuse from the victim made the perpetrator emotional. On the way home from Prigi, Trenggalek to Malang via the JLS area in the southern Tulungagung area, Sugeng asked the victim to stop the motorbike on the side of the road, with the excuse of wanting to urinate.

When it was just stopped, the perpetrator who had a criminal record (recidivist) in this theft case hit the victim with his bare hands, then hit the victim's head and chest using a large rock.

"I hit him with a stone twice, on the nape and chest," said Sugeng Widodo.

After the incident, the perpetrator took the victim's motorcycle, wallet and cell phone to Malang.

The victim's cellphone was then sold in the Malang area. While the motorbike was brought home, painted and changed the police number. In this release, it is revealed that SW is a theft recidivist.

Sugeng was also jailed in the Central Java region because he was caught stealing gas cylinders. Then he was also imprisoned in Malang for stealing a cell phone.

Apart from the suspect, the police also secured evidence for motorbikes, cell phones, and some cash. Meanwhile, from the scene of the incident, the police secured evidence of a piece of stone that was used to kill the victim.

Suspect Sugeng Wibowo is now being arrested at the Tulungagung Police and charged under Article 339 subsidiary 338 of the Criminal Code, with the threat of 20 years in prison.
