Cartenz Peacefully Arrests 1 Peak KKB Member In Timika, Secures A Revolving Pistol Made In Pindad

The Cartenz Peace Task Force arrested a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) of Puncak Regency, Central Papua, Yekis Wanimbo alias Salamakan Tabuni. From the arrest, a revolver made by Pindad serial number AE S 030190 was secured.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, said the arrests made around Timika, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, Tuesday, June 10.

"Currently Yekis Wanimbo is at the Timika Gakkum Unit Command Post for an intensive examination," said Head of Damai Cartenz Police, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, who was contacted from Jayapura, Wednesday, June 11, as reported by Antara.

Faizal said this arrest was part of the National Police's commitment to enforcing the law against perpetrators of armed crimes in Papua.

Salahemakan Tabuni is part of the KKB group led by Numbuk Telenggen which was involved in the burning of vital facilities belonging to PT. Unggul in Puncak, 2021.

When carrying out the arson, Salahemakan was seen with Beniku Tabuni and Alenus Tabuni by dousing the building using gasoline and burning it using a lighter, as witnessed by Junius Waker alias Lupa Waker.

The suspect is known to be full name Yekis Wanimbo, born in Ilaga, February 1, 1994, having his address at Walani Village, Kwamki Narama, works as a farmer and gains gold in Kali Kuluk, Tembagapura District, whose results are allegedly used to fund KKB activities, including the purchase of firearms.

"From the provisional confession, the weapon was bought for Rp. 30 million from someone from the Damal tribe in Tembagapura," said Faizal.
