Not Worried That The Mass Base Is Seized, PPP Hopes The Ummat Party Strengthens The Coalition Of Islamic Political Parties

JAKARTA - The Ummah Party received a positive response in the national political arena. Chairman of the PPP DPR faction, Amir Uskara, hopes that the presence of the party led by Amien Rais can strengthen the coalition of Islamic parties in the parliament later.

"The strength of the Islamic-based party factions will be stronger and will make it easier to help the interests of the people in parliament", said Amir, Monday, May 3.

Even though they are both Islamic political parties, PPP is not worried that the Ummat Party will seize the niche for the party bearing the Kaaba symbol. This is because both have different voter bases.

"If possible, vote outside the bases that have been worked on by the Islamic party", said Amir.

Previously, the Ummat Party stated that it is also open to non-Muslims to register as members.

Amir said that his party is ready to cooperate with other political parties, including the Ummat Party. "PPP is ready to cooperate with any party as long as it is for the progress of the nation and state", said the Deputy Chairperson of the PPP.

Previously, Zulfikar Arse Sadikin, Head of the Organization for the Organization of the Golkar Party's DPP, welcomed the Ummat Party. He hopes that the party made by Amien Rais will become a new alternative to channel the aspirations of the people.

According to him, the Ummat Party is an Islamic party that is present to strengthen the presidential system to build party compatibility. However, his party wanted a moderate Islamic party.

"We prefer the presence of moderate political parties. This means we prefer that the political parties are plural but moderate", Zulfikar told VOI, Friday, April 30.
