The South Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has arrested four commercial sex workers (PSK) in the Blok M area.

The action is to enforce regional regulations (perda) while maintaining public order.

"We received a report of one prostitute on Friday night (6/6), Saturday night (7/6) two prostitutes and Sunday night (8/6) one prostitute," said Head of South Jakarta Satpol PP, Nanto Dwi Subekti to reporters in Jakarta, Monday.

Nanto said they are usually on Jalan Falatehan or next to the Blok M Terminal.

During the arrest of the prostitutes, the Satpol PP had not had time to arrest pimps in the area.

"But pimps were not caught, because most of the independent prostitutes did not have pimps," he said.

The prostitutes who have been raided will be taken to the Kedoya Social Institution and will be trained by the local Social Service Sub-dept.

The South Jakarta Satpol PP is committed to continuing to maintain security and public order in its area.
