Jabodetabek Weather 15 May, Jakarta Cloudy and Bogor Heavy Rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in the Jabodetabek area on Friday, May 15, will be dominated by cloudy to rainy conditions with varying intensities. A number of areas are expected to experience light to heavy rain in the afternoon and evening.

BMKG also issued an early warning of extreme weather for the Jabodetabek area in the period 13-17 May 2026. On Friday, Bogor Regency and City were on alert for heavy rain, while South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bekasi Regency, South Tangerang, and Tangerang Regency were in the moderate to heavy rain alert category.

In the Jakarta area, the air temperature is estimated to range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius with high relative humidity. East Jakarta and its surrounding areas have the potential to experience light rain in the afternoon to evening, with morning conditions dominated by cloudy weather.

BMKG forecast data in the Cibubur area showed a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius during the day before falling when rain began to fall.

Meanwhile, the Bogor area is predicted to be the area with the highest rainfall in Jabodetabek today. In the Cisarua area, Bogor Regency, light to moderate rain is expected to fall starting in the afternoon to the evening. The air temperature ranges from 20-27 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of more than 90 percent.

For the Bekasi area, the weather is expected to be cloudy since morning with the potential for light rain in the afternoon and evening. The air temperature is in the range of 25-31 degrees Celsius. BMKG reminds the public to be aware of puddles and slippery roads due to rain that falls during the afternoon rush hour.

In general, rainfall in the western Java region in May 2026 is still in the medium to high category as the atmospheric phenomena such as the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) and the cyclonic circulation around Indonesia are still active.
