JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung welcomed the shareholdership agreement in the context of establishing a bank business group (KUB) conducted by PT Bank DKI and PT Bank Maluku Malut.

In addition to strengthening banking resilience, Pramono hopes that the regional development bank (BPD) belonging to the DKI Provincial Government will advance to class through more professional management.

"I really want Bank DKI to advance to class. I encourage this collaboration because I believe it will be mutually beneficial, not only for DKI Jakarta, but also for people in Maluku and North Maluku," Pramono said in his statement, Friday, June 6.

Furthermore, Pramono assessed the cooperation between Bank DKI and Bank Maluku Malut as a form of synergy for regions that have great potential to grow together.

Moreover, this collaboration in the formation of the KUB coincides with the transformation process of Bank DKI ahead of the initial targeted share offering which will begin in the one year span.

"The formation of this KUB is also part of Bank DKI's investment story towards initial public offering (IPO) and going public. Because, if it has gone public, I believe the supervisor is public," explained Pramono.

President Director of Bank DKI, Agus Haryoto Widodo, said that the formation of this KUB is an important milestone in the transformation of Bank DKI into a bank that is healthy, strong, and nationally competitive.

"Through this collaboration, Bank DKI will expand market penetration, strengthen business structure, and increase its contribution to regional economic strengthening. This is part of our investment story towards an IPO," said Agus.

Bank DKI will become the second controlling shareholder in Bank Maluku Malut (BMM) and will actively assist the strengthening of governance, risk management, IT system, as well as business development and human resources in BMM, in line with the integrated principles of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).

Maluku Governor Hendrik Lewerissa stated that this collaboration will strengthen services to the community and local business actors.

"With the support of Bank DKI, we believe that BMM can accelerate the transformation of financial services and have a positive impact on the regional economy," he said.

The Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoandra, added that this collaboration is important in the midst of economic uncertainty and accelerating banking digitization.

"This step is a form of adaptation and collaboration in a challenging era," said Sherly.

Meanwhile, the President Director of BMM Syahrisal Imbar emphasized the importance of this collaboration as the beginning of the big transformation of BMM. "We hope that this step will also open up a space for economic cooperation between Maluku and North Maluku entrepreneurs and business actors in Jakarta," concluded Syahrisal.
