Many Cases Of ASN Absence Manipulation: House Of Representatives Commission II: Don't Play To Become State Abdi

JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mohammad Toha, highlighted the many cases of manipulation of the absence of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) that recently occurred in a number of areas, including the districts of Lebong, East Aceh and Grobogan. Toha reminded ASN to maintain integrity and discipline as state servants.

"ASN are state servants, they should serve with discipline and seriousness. If ASN dares to manipulate attendance, that means it is indicated that they are not disciplined, play around as state servants," said Toha, Thursday, June 5.

Toha also urged the government to immediately evaluate the attendance system of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to be more effective and transparent. According to Toha, the case of attendance manipulation is proof that the current attendance system still has a gap that allows fraud.

This, said Toha, is certainly detrimental to the state and lowers public confidence in the performance of ASN.

"Cases in Lebong, East Aceh and Grobogan must be a valuable lesson. The government must immediately evaluate the ASN attendance system, and improve it by using effective technology and can minimize manipulation, such as the presence of integrated and monitored biometric-based electronics in real-time," he explained.

The PKB legislator from the Central Java V electoral district also emphasized that the implementation of an effective attendance system will increase the discipline and professionalism of ASN, as well as support the creation of a clean and accountable bureaucracy.

"I also ask the government to seriously deal with the issue of attendance manipulation. Check in other areas, make sure there are no similar cases," said Toha.

Previously reported, as many as 1,233 ASN in the Lebong Regional Government, Bengkulu, manipulated electronic attendance. ASN who attendance ranged from the head of the service, doctors, echelons, to all sub-district heads.

Meanwhile, in East Aceh, there are 724 ASNs involved in the practice of counterfeiting online attendance using the facial record system. They are suspected of manipulating their faces so that they can be recorded on attendance even though they are not present at work.
