West Java Health Office: 6 COVID-19 Cases Detected In 4 Regencies

The West Java Health Office revealed that for the time being, as many as six cases of COVID-19 were detected in four districts and have now been treated by hospitals for observation and given further action.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control of the West Java Health Office, Rochady, said the six cases were reported to have occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Bandung Regency, Bogor Regency, and Indramayu Regency.

"There are six who are included in our application report. However, I have to confirm (more) to the regency/city," said Rochady as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 4.

This finding made the West Java Health Office immediately move to educate the public and coordinate with districts/cities in West Java to be vigilant and improve surveillance performance, as well as continue the circular from the Ministry of Health regarding COVID-19 vigilance to districts/cities throughout West Java to ensure that there was no spike, other than handling.

He asked the public to remain vigilant, but there was no need to panic, considering that the symptoms that appeared were generally mild, similar to the common cold.

"So far there is nothing to worry about, but it is also necessary to educate the public to want an examination," said Rochady.

As for the thorough tracing of COVID-19 cases, Rochady admitted that his party was still waiting for further directions from the central government.

"Tracing has no plans for mass tracing tests, the SOP will change because there is already a history of vaccination and immunization," he said.

The West Java Health Office will improve surveillance or monitoring performance. In addition, health facilities in West Java are prepared for both medical personnel and isolation rooms if needed.

"The availability of health facilities, including isolation rooms and medical personnel, is already available in West Java because it is a standard for services at hospitals," said Rochady.

Since the end of May 2025, a spike in COVID-19 cases has occurred again in a number of Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. And now it has entered Indonesia, including West Java.
