Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Towards Arafah June 4, Ministry Of Religion Prepares Three Mobilization Schemes

JAKARTA - Indonesian pilgrims will depart for Arafah, Makkah on 8 Zulhijah 1446 Hijriah or June 4, 2025 to undergo wukuf which is the peak of the pilgrimage. The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) continues to strengthen data consolidation and draft a scheme to ensure that all pilgrims depart for Arafah.

"We have compiled various mitigation schemes for the congregation's movement to ensure that all pilgrims are transported to Arafah. Do not let anyone fall behind, be scattered, and even neglected," said Director General of Hajj and Umrah Implementation Hilman Latief in his statement yesterday.

In a press conference in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Hilman Latief explained three mobilization schemes for Hajj pilgrims to Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina that had been prepared.

3 Mobilization Schemes of Hajj Pilgrims to Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina Pertama, regular movement schemes. In the regular movement scheme, pilgrims depart from Makkah to Arafah to carry out wusuf. After the maghrib, the congregation departs for Muzdalifah to carry out the mabit (staying). After passing through the middle of the night, the congregation moves to Mina to spend the night in a month of up to 12 or 13 Zulhijah.

"This (regular movement) will be followed by around 67% or around 136,000 Indonesian pilgrims," said Hilman.

The second scheme, is Murur. Pilgrims of the Hajj Murur, after fulfilling Wukuf in Arafah, after entering Maghrib time, moved across Muzdalifah (not getting off the bus), then heading to Mina. This scheme will be followed by around 33 percent or around 60 thousand Indonesian pilgrims.

"Third, Tanazul. Hajj pilgrims who carry out Tanazul are those who will throw a jumrah on 10 Zulhijjah (after Wukuf and Mabit in Muzdalifah), then return to the hotel, no longer return to Mina's tent. They are pilgrims who live in hotels around the Syisyah and Raudhah areas," he explained.

Jemaah Tanazul akan kembali ke Jamarat untuk melemparan jumrah Ula, Wustha, dan Aqabah pada 11, 12, dan 13 Zulhijah. Scheme ini ditargetkan akan diikuti 37,000 jemaah haji.

The last two schemes, namely Murur and Tanazul, are the government's efforts to unravel the density in Muzdalifah and Mina. These two schemes were implemented after the government conducted a study and it was concluded that this did not violate the Shari'a of the pilgrimage.

For elderly pilgrims, disabilities, and comorbidities, special wusuf safaris are applied. They will receive an escort from medical personnel, worship assistants, and transit hotels to ensure they can maintain a safe and proper harmony.

In addition, Hilman also explained the scenario for the movement of Indonesian pilgrims during the peak of Hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

"First, from Makkah to Arafah. This movement will be carried out in three trips," he said.

On June 9, 2025, all Hajj pilgrims were already in Arafah to carry out Wuquf worship. After that, the pilgrims will move from Arafah to Muzdalifah. The movement begins at 19.00 p.m. Saudi Arabia time.

Pilgrims with regular schemes will pay in Muzdalifah. From Muzdalifah to Mina, Hajj pilgrims will be served by buses with the Muzdalifah - Mina taraddudi (backball) system, until before Fajr," said Hilman.

After the evening in Mina, the pilgrims who took the initial nafar and nafar tsani will be dispatched back to Makkah in stages. "We have adjusted all these movements to the capacity of sharia services and reality in the field," said Hilman.

Hilman appealed to all Indonesian people to pray for Indonesian pilgrims. "So that Indonesian pilgrims are given strength and convenience in completing their worship, and return to the country as a prosperous pilgrimage, whose benefits are felt throughout their lives, for themselves, their families, and the nation," he said.
