The Minister Of Social Affairs Gives Savings For KRI Nanggala 402 Crew Children, Rp100 Million Each

JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini handed over assistance in the form of money in savings for the son of Letda Laut (T) Rintoni, a soldier from the KRI Nanggala 402 crew, in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, Sunday.

"I immediately handed over a savings book worth Rp100 million per child as assistance to support basic needs for children and babies who are still in the womb," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini as quoted by Antara in the ministry's press release.

In addition to handing over savings, the Minister of Social Affairs accompanied by the Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto also provided compensation worth IDR 15 million to the family of Lt. Laut (T) Rintoni.

Letda Laut (T) Rintoni is survived by a wife and two daughters, one six years old and one 16 months old.

Rintoni's wife works as an honorary teacher at a private Junior High School (SMP) in Jatisrono, Wonogiri.

The Ministry of Social Affairs provided death benefits worth Rp. 15 million each to the heirs of 53 crew of KRI Nanggala 402, the submarine that lost contact on April 22, 2021 and was declared missing four days later.

In addition, the government is trying to provide work opportunities for the families of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew and provide trauma healing support for the families of the unlucky submarine crew.
