During the visit, the Vice President was accompanied by Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan Setiawan, Regent of Indramayu Lucky Hakim, and Deputy Regent of Indramayu Syaefudin.

From ANTARA's observation, the Vice President and his entourage arrived at Pasar Baru Indramayu at around 09.00 WIB, his arrival was greeted enthusiastically by residents and traders who had filled the market area since morning.

Gibran seemed to walk down the market aisle and stopped at several stalls to chat with traders.

During the visit, the Vice President took the time to buy a number of vegetables and listen to complaints and expectations from traders regarding the market conditions.

The presence of the Vice President in the middle of the market is used by residents to shake hands and capture the moment through their cellphone cameras.

Deputy Regent of Indramayu Syaefudin said the results of his review with the Vice President showed that the price condition of basic commodities was still in the stable category ahead of Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah.

According to him, the main commodities such as beef, vegetables, and other daily necessities do not show a significant price spike.

The current price of local meat is still IDR 130 thousand per kilogram, while imported meat is around IDR 70 thousand to IDR 90 thousand. This is still within normal limits," he said.

He also ensured that the availability of food stocks in the market was sufficient to meet the needs of the community in facing religious holidays.

In addition to monitoring prices, said Syaefudin, the Vice President also highlighted the physical condition at Pasar Baru Indramayu.

He said the market was last relocated in 1994 and until now, has never been completely revitalized.

"There has been no update for a long time. Therefore, we are currently preparing a Detail Engineering Design (DED) to revitalize this market," said Syafudin.

He said that market revitalization is a priority in the regional development agenda to increase the comfort of traders and visitors, as well as support the smooth economic activity of the community.

He said that after reviewing market conditions, the Vice President immediately continued his journey to review the condition of the Prosperous Fishermen's Village in Eretan Kulon Village, Indramayu, which is the location for the relocation of residents affected by the tidal flood.

"The vice president immediately moved to another location, namely the relocation village for fishermen," he said.
