JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil comforted children who were victims of the Seroja Tropical Cyclone who were still in refugee camps in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).

During the visit, Governor Ridwan Kamil was accompanied by the Regional Secretary of NTT Province, Benediktus Polo Maing, to see first-hand the condition of the refugees who had been living in Oebufu Village, Kupang City for almost a month.

From the Antara report, Saturday, May 1, Ridwan Kamil looked familiar with the children at the emergency school. She sang with them and encouraged her to continue learning even though she was still in a condition affected by the disaster.

Ridwan Kamil also met with mothers who were pregnant.

"For mothers who are still in a state of pregnancy, they should always maintain their health while in the evacuation so that they stay healthy, especially when there are some who are about to give birth," he said.

Ridwan also asked refugees to maintain health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. "You have to keep wearing a mask so you don't get exposed to COVID-19," he said.

He and a number of these officials came to NTT to see the condition of refugees who were victims of the Seroja Tropical Cyclone and at the same time handed over Rp1 billion in aid to victims of natural disasters in NTT.

"Natural disasters also occurred in West Java, but because the people of NTT also experienced disasters, the government and people of West Java felt concerned about providing this assistance, especially since many NTT residents are in Bandung to continue their education," said Ridwan Kamil.
