Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjungpinang Police, AKP Agung Tri Poerbowo, explained that the perpetrators were arrested at different locations.

Of the 13 perpetrators, 12 of them acted as perpetrators of the theft, while the other was a collector of the stolen cable.

"Initially we arrested two perpetrators, after the development was carried out, 11 more were found, a total of 13 were found," said AKP Agung as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 20.

Agung explained the modus operandi of the perpetrators in carrying out their actions, namely by using scissors, saws, and gerinda to cut cables.

The total loss from the theft of the SWRO cable is estimated at tens to hundreds of millions of rupiah. The money from the theft was used by the perpetrators for their daily needs.

Currently, the perpetrators are being held at the Tanjungpinang Police for further investigation.
