Jokowi's Fake Certificate Case, Bareskrim Polri Will Hold Cases This Week

The investigation into the alleged fake diploma case belonging to the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continues. Recently, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police plans to carry out the case title process this week.

"Furthermore, investigators will conduct a case title this week," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

However, it was not conveyed in detail about the time or day of the implementation of the case title process. Only the results at the investigation stage will be explained transparently.

Currently, said Trunoyudo, the investigation process which is carried out simultaneously and continuously is still ongoing.

"The stages are certainly carried out procedurally and professionally and then also waiting for the results from the forensic laboratory," he said.

Bareskrim Polri is known to be investigating the alleged fake diploma case belonging to Jokowi. The management was based on a report made by the Head of the Ulema and Activist Defenders Team (TPUA), Eggi Sudjana.

In addition, the investigation was also based on Information Report Number: LI/39/IV/RES.1.24./2025/Dittipidum dated April 9, 2025 for Eggi Sudjana's complaint.

Based on the report, investigators have examined several witnesses, one of whom is Jokowi, today. A total of 22 questions were raised by investigators.

Dozens of questions in the series of examinations, said Jokowi, were about diplomas of all levels of education. Then, regarding the activities of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia when he was a student.

"Yes, around the diplomas from elementary, junior high, high school to university, which are also related to the thesis on the activities of my students in the vicinity," said Jokowi.
