NasDem And PKS Join Commitment Against Terrorist Radicalism

JAKARTA - The Central Executive of the NasDem Party and the ranks of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) are committed to jointly fighting against radical terrorist ideologies in Indonesia.

"The NasDem Party agrees that there is no place for radicalism on Earth, so the NasDem and together (PKS) agree to fight against radicalism and terrorism," said NasDem Party Deputy Chairman Ahmad HM Ali when delivering the results of the meeting between the two parties politics, as quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30.

He emphasized that the NasDem Party and PKS will continue to care for democratic values in order to prevent the proliferation of terrorist radicalism in Indonesia.

"Here is a democratic country and we will continue to jointly care for our nationality, NasDem and PKS, committed to doing that," he emphasized.

Ahmad Ali also said that the two political parties agreed that Pancasila would continue to be the nation's ideology, despite the various differences between the PKS and the NasDem Party.

"We will remain committed to consistently making Pancasila the ideology of the nation, and then maintaining the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," said the Deputy Head of the NasDem Party during a press conference at the State Defense Academy Building, Jakarta, Friday.

Separately, PKS Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi emphasized that PKS will always support efforts to prevent and eradicate criminal acts of terrorism in a civilized and procedural manner.

The PKS Central Board visited the NasDem Party AKB Building, Jakarta, Friday, and the two parties held a closed meeting for approximately 1.5 hours.

At the meeting at the ABN Building, the Nasdem Party was represented by Deputy Chairman Ahmad Ali and Secretary General Johnny G Plate, while General Chairman Surya Dharma Paloh welcomed PKS's visit via virtual video conference.

The PKS delegation was led directly by PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, accompanied by among them the PKS General Secretary Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi and PKS DPP Chairman Mardani Ali Sera.
