6 Million Sinovac Vaccines And 480 Thousand Sinopharms Arrive In Indonesia This Afternoon

JAKARTA - Today, Indonesia again received millions of Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines at Soekarno Hatta Airport this afternoon. This vaccine is transported using containers.

"A total of 6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in the form of raw materials or bulk originating from Sinovac Biotech Ltd. and a total of 482,400 doses of vaccine in finished form or vials from Sinopharm China National Pharmaceutical Group", said Minister of Communication and Information Jhonny G. Plate in the broadcast Presidential Secretariat Youtube, Friday, 30 April.

With the arrival of the tenth phase of the vaccine today, Indonesia has received a total of 65,500,000 doses of the vaccine in bulk form from Sinovac, as well as 8,448,000 finished vaccines from Sinovac, Sinopharm, and AstraZeneca.

Plate said, the arrival of vaccines today is the government's effort to secure the need for vaccine supplies from various producers around the world.

"The government has consistently secured the supply of vaccines in stages at home in the midst of a situation in which countries in the world are competing to get the COVID-19 vaccine," he said.

Then, Plate said that the national vaccination is one of the efforts to seek or achieve herd immunity group immunity. At the same time, the 3T and 3M strategy continue.

Moreover, currently, several countries are facing a second wave and even a third wave of COVID-19 transmission which has resulted in increased positive cases of COVID-19.

'For that, we must work together to prevent this incident from happening in Indonesia. Even though the vaccinations have been carried out, we must not be careless", said Plate.
