PDIP Battered In The 2024 Pilkada, Megawati: You Are Weak!

JAKARTA - PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri admitted that her party was battered in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada). She is also disappointed that her flagship cadres have lost in an area that has been known as the 'bullet cage'.

This was revealed by Megawati in front of hundreds of PDIP cadres at the Trisakti Tourism Award or 2025 Tourism Village at Puri Agung Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday, May 8.

"Yesterday, the election, I never said anything, but now I'm a little bit more. Why? After being battered like that, isn't it battered or not? huh? I didn't admit it. Isn't it battered or not?" Megawati asked her cadre.

"Babakuk!" replied the PDIP cadres.

In addition to telling the story of the battered PDIP condition, Megawati also expressed her disappointment because a number of leading cadres were not elected, especially in the areas of candang bull" in the 2024 Pilkada.

Megawati said the result was her responsibility. On the other hand, Megawati regretted that there were a number of cadres who did not work optimally in the field.

"I can't believe it? I'll call the person later. Why should it be, it's not finished. I'm responsible that I know these people. I'm really diligent, I'm not. I just want to be, I can. Who told me to be the general chairman? So I can give a value. So I'm sure that this will definitely happen," he said.

Megawati then spoke about her experience of being elected as a member of the DPR for three consecutive terms in the New Order era. According to him, this achievement cannot be separated from her closeness to the people.

He then mentioned a number of his cadres who were not optimal and should have gone down to the grassroots to see the problem firsthand.

Although some cadres were not optimal, PDIP in the end still won the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg), and made the party, which is indentical with red, win three times in a row in the Legislative Election.

However, Megawati emphasized that the PDIP victory in the 2024 Pileg was not only the result of internal work, but because of sincere support from the people.

President Soekarno's daughter also reminded cadres to remain solid and not hesitate in following the party's struggle under her authority as general chairman.

"If you are weak, yes, you don't win. Why? The proof, I see, it's crazy, the place we should have voiced, it was broken up. No need to say, I'm ketum, I know," said Megawati.
