People's School Students In East Kalimantan Sharpening Must Live In Dormitory, Social Service: Operational From The State Budget

JAKARTA - The Social Service (Dinso) of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) said that the public school student initiated by President Prabowo Subianto would stay in the school dormitory.

"The people's school was built by the central government this year," said Head of the North Penajam Paser Regency Social Service Saidin when asked about the People's School program in Penajam, Thursday, May 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

The North Penajam Paser Regency Government has prepared land owned by the local district government of approximately 6.7 hectares in Lawe-Lawe Village, Penajam District for the construction of the People's School.

People's schools have 36 study groups (rombels) consisting of elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP), and high school (SMA) levels. Elementary schools have 18 rombels, junior high and high school levels, each having nine rombels.

"People's Schools apply boarding school, so students live in school dormitories," he said.

In the new academic year, the People's School will be filled with 90 elementary school first class students divided into three classes and 96 junior high and high school first grade students to fill three classes.

The People's School that implements the boarding school system, he said, is estimated to require 282 students for the first school year.

The fulfillment of public school students is carried out by verifying the underprivileged, he said, by marrying the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) of the North Penajam Paser Regency Social Service.

Recruitment of People's School educators is prioritized or prioritized by local residents or residents of North Penajam Paser Regency, and if the need is not met, opportunities will be opened for residents outside the region.

The physical development fund for the People's School is borne by the central government, the school's operational budget for underprivileged residents is also borne by the central government.

"Including the operational costs of school dormitories, a budget is prepared through the state budget (APBN)," said Saidin.
