DENPASAR - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti stated that the coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum will soon be realized just waiting for the issuance of the Regulation of the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Permendikdasmen).
Mu'ti said regulations regarding the coding curriculum and artificial intelligence are still in the harmonization stage by the Ministry of Law.
"Coding and Artificial Intelligence have been completed, learning achievements have also been completed, public trials have also been completed, now we are just waiting for the Ministerial Regulation to be issued after harmonization from the Ministry of Law," he said, Thursday, May 8.
The Secretary General of PP Muhammadiyah stated that after going through the harmonization process from the Ministry of Law, learning about coding and AI will soon be applied to the new academic year 2025/2026.
This learning will be an option subject, from grade 5 elementary school to high school level.
"We convey that the coding program is an option subject starting from grades 4 or 5 of elementary school, in our regulations from grade 5 to the SLTPA level," he said.
Previously, Abdul Mu'ti said that although optional, coding and artificial intelligence are efforts to equip children with relevant skills in the present and future.
