8 Prisoners At Muaralabuh, West Sumatra Escaped At Night By Breaking Ventilation With A Saw

JAKARTA - At least eight prisoners of Class IIB Muaralabuh Prison, South Solok Regency, West Sumatra managed to escape by damaging the ventilation in the cell, Thursday, April 29 evening.

Regional Police Chief of Sungai Pagu, Elvi Indra said that according to information obtained by his party, the eight prisoners of the Muaralabuh detention center escaped by sawing hacksaw and barbed wire installed in the vent.

However, for more details, his party asked to contact the head of the Class IIB Muaralabuh Detention Center directly, because it was they who had the right to notify the real incident.

The police chief emphasized that in this incident the police said he was only helping to carry out a measured search, and hoped that all the detainees who escaped could be caught as soon as possible.

To catch the escaped prisoners, his party has deployed 10 personnel to hunt them down.

"We have also coordinated with the closest regional Police such as Sangir Police and Koto Parik Gadang Diateh to block out access to the area", he said in Padang Aro, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30.

For the Sangir Police, he said, they had been contacted to anticipate the convict escaping towards Kerinci, Jambi Province.

Meanwhile, the bulkhead at Koto Parik Gadang Diateh is meant to anticipate the prisoners from escaping to Solok Regency.
