BANDAR LAMPUNG - Lampung Regional Police (Polda) revealed a case of counterfeiting pertalite with the mode of replacing the type of fuel oil (BBM) with crude oil.
Dirkrimsus Polda Lampung Kombes Dery Agung Wijaya explained that his party received information from the public whose vehicles experienced damage after refueling at a public gas station (SPBU) in Central Lampung.
The Lampung Regional Police then conducted an investigation related to criminal acts of oil and natural gas by falsifying, mixing, or replacing pertalite fuel with crude oil.
"In this case, we secured the driver and assistant who was carrying a car containing Pertamina's fuel," said KombesDery as quoted by ANTARA.
The modus operandi of the two suspects, namely pertalite type fuel taken from the Pertamina depot, was replaced with crude oil that had been prepared by the two suspects in an empty field, Tanjung Bintang area.
"So, after getting a pertalite from the depot, the suspect should have headed to a gas station in Central Lampung, but they stopped at a place, then replaced the fuel in the car tank with raw fuel," he said.

After replacing the fuel, the two suspects headed to the gas station with the hope that the crude oil was mixed at the gas station.
In fact, said Kombes Dery, the perpetrator had turned off the GPS installed in the car, then they confirmed that the seal on the car was still in a neat condition so that the SPBU did not suspect when the crude oil was put into the reservoir.
For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 54 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas (UU Migas) with a penalty of 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 60 billion.
