JAKARTA In a historic step for the national creative economy sector, the former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, officially formed a strategic partnership with United Media Asia (UMA) to form an investment fund worth IDR 5 trillion.
The signing of the agreement took place at Corner 28, Jakarta, and was also witnessed by the Minister of Culture and Susatraan, Fadli Zon.
The funds will be focused on making Indonesia the center of cultural innovation and the creative economy capable of competing in the global arena.
Investment focuses include local content production, talent development, vocational education, digital technology, to creative industry infrastructure development.
Sandiaga Uno called this initiative an important milestone in efforts to strengthen Indonesia's position on the world creative economy map.
"This fund is not just capital, but a tangible form of commitment to the nation's identity, the creation of economic opportunities, and global relevance. Together with UMA, we build a foundation to raise Indonesia's creative potential and create a strong, inclusive, and highly competitive industry," Sandiaga said.
UMA Chief Commercial Officer, Anka Zumi, said this partnership is a strong signal that Indonesia is ready to lead the Asian creative industry.
"With Pak Sandiaga's leadership and support from the ministry, this partnership not only encourages the birth of world-class creative works, but also strengthens education, infrastructure, and creative workers who will determine the future of the nation," said Anka.
Minister of Culture and Susastraan, Fadli Zon, who was present as a witness to the signing, also expressed his support.

Part of the funds will involve State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) such as Perum for State Film Production (PFN) and Danantara for high-impact projects. The details of the collaboration with SOEs and other partners will be announced after May 20, 2025.
