Police Shoot Robbers Of IDR 400 Million In Makassar

Makassar Police paralyzed the leg of a resident's Rp400 million robbery, Wahyu, for fighting officers when they were about to be arrested in the Jalan Sungai Saddang area, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"Members were forced to take firm action by paralyzing the suspect's (shot) leg for trying to fight and trying to escape," said Makassar Police Chief Kombes Arya Perdana as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 6.

The robbery took place on Jalan Anuang on April 21, 2025. From the viral CCTV footage, it was seen that the victim entered his house carrying a cardboard box containing money.

After a while the perpetrator tried to break into the victim's house, then pointed a sharp weapon, then took the cardboard box and left the victim.

"We see, there were victims who entered the house carrying a piece of money that had been tied up. The amount, approximately Rp. 400 million, then approached by the perpetrators was threatened with sharp weapons and asked to hand over the money. We have revealed this, we arrested the perpetrators based on information from the public," he said.

The perpetrator had followed the victim while walking, until he entered his house. The condition of the house's environment was quiet, but the perpetrator was not aware that CCTV was recording.

"Some gave information to the perpetrators, namely that someone had just walked, and they continued to follow it. Apparently, at home the conditions were also quiet, only he (the perpetrator) was not aware that there was CCTV, so it was seen from CCTV. We recognized the perpetrator from there and finally arrested," he explained.

The evidence confiscated was a motorcycle unit and the remaining cash from Rp. 400 million with a value of around Rp. 37.7 million.

The money from the robbery was divided among friends who participated, namely Rp55 million and Rp70 million. In addition, they have been busy enjoying the money.

"There are still two suspects that we have not received (DPO) initials B and L, they also received money and he was also on board. They received Rp55 million and Rp70 million, and bought a motorbike. The rest kept 150 million in cash at his family's house," said Arya.

After successfully robbing the money, these perpetrators partyed drugs and bought 5 grams of methamphetamine. This suspect is a criminal with theft and violence as well as drug users as well as recidivists.
