JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Buaran III Water Processing Installation (IPA) managed by Perumda PAM Jaya. The water treatment project was built with an investment value of IDR 2.6 trillion.

IPA Buaran III has a production capacity of 3,000 liters per second and flows water to 31 urban villages in five sub-districts, namely Kramat Jati, Makasar, Cipayung, Ciracas, and Pasar Rebo sub-districts.

"IPA Buaran III has a capacity of 3,000 liters per second. It is one of the most high water installations. It may even be the highest at this time," said Pramono at IPA Buaran III, East Jakarta, Tuesday, May 6.

Pramono said that the operation of the IPA Buaran III was one of the progressive steps in meeting the clean water needs of Jakarta residents which had to be realized in the next four years.

Meanwhile, currently the coverage of piped clean water services for Jakarta residents is still 70 percent. Thus, this is a challenge for PAM Jaya to continue to increase service coverage in Jakarta.

"I gave a target to the relevant agencies and the President Director of PAM Jaya and his staff, so that in 2029 all water needs in Jakarta can be met," said Pramono.

On that occasion, Pramono again revealed a plan so that PAM Jaya could start selling shares to the public through initial public offering (IPO) or establishing strategic partnerships for business development.

"The main problem is whether before the IPO conducts a strategic alliance or IPO first. Well, yesterday we and the President Director had a meeting. In detail I have not decided," explained Pramono.
