The US Film Industry Is Fierce, Trump Will Use 100 Percent Tariff For Films From Outside America

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump said the film industry in America is currently dying very quickly.

This is due to the rise of production incentives from other countries that have succeeded in attracting production houses out of the US.

"Other countries offer various incentives to attract our filmmakers and studios to move from the United States," said Trump through his social media platform, Truth Social, reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, May 5.

He stressed that Hollywood and many other regions in the US were "dismantled," and called it a "systematic effort from other countries" that he said was a threat to US national security.

"This is not only about the economy, but also about messages and propaganda," Trump stressed.

United States President Donald Trump on Sunday (4/5) announced a 100 percent tariff for all films produced abroad.

"I authorize the United States Department of Commerce and Trade Representatives to immediately start the process of implementing 100 percent tariffs on all films that enter our country and are produced abroad," Trump said.
