JAKARTA - Banten Governor Andra Soni asked for the supply of snake antibiscus serum stocks in areas around Bedouin settlements, as an elementary protection effort for indigenous peoples who live far from health facilities.

Hal tersebut disampaikan usai menerima laporan langsung dari Jaro Pamarentahan Desa Kanekes, Jaro Oom, dalam rangkaian kegiatan Seba Badui 2025.

"Please immediately prepare the snake anti-cancer and always be available around the Bedouin residents," said Andra at the Banten Provincial State Building, Serang City, Saturday.

Andra said that currently health services for the Bedouin community are generally carried out at the Ciboleger Health Center, owned by the Lebak Regency Government.

Therefore, he asked the Banten Provincial Health Office to immediately coordinate with the District Office so that the supply of anti-cancer serum can be distributed regularly.

"Today I also received a complaint from the public, someone was caught by a snake at the Banten Hospital. But there is no snake candication drug available at the Banten Hospital," he said.

As the main and largest hospital in Banten Province, Andra requested that the availability of drugs, especially those needed by the people of Banten, be fulfilled in the future.

Meanwhile, Jaro Pamarentahan, Kanekes Oom Village, revealed that the Bedouin community faced great difficulties when they had to refer the victim to a snake bite to a medical facility.

The remote location of the village makes patients have to be carried along for a dozen to tens of kilometers before getting help.

"That's why we want to determine those near the Bedouin area. If there are snakes, we take them to the nearest place to make them comfortable, so it's easy," said Jaro Oom.

He added, although he did not have definite data, the case of snake bites was often hit by Bedouin residents. Some of the victims were rescued, but some were not saved.
