2 Debt Collectors Persecuted In South Jakarta, Losses Reached IDR 6.2 Billion

JAKARTA Two men with the initials A and F, who are high-ranking food distributor companies PT RPM, became victims of persecution while collecting debts amounting to Rp6.2 billion.

The incident occurred in the Melawai area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, and has now been reported to Polda Metro Jaya.

"We have reported the incident to the Polda Metro Jaya for reported C and R to be followed up," said victim F in his statement.

This case began on April 22, 2024 when PT RPM collaborated on food supply with PT BLI, a supplier company where C and R reported work. On its way, PT BLI experienced a delay in payment.

On February 3, 2025, PT BLI is said to have postponed the payment of bills until February 15, 2025. However, when the deadline arrived, the payment had not yet been made.

After several communications, PT BLI invited representatives of PT RPM to meet to resolve the issue. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 3, 2025, at a restaurant called Vehicle Houses, South Jakarta, at 10.00 WIB.

During the meeting, A and F had discussions with PT BLI's legal team. However, not long after, both of them were asked to enter a separate room. That's where the incident of violence occurred.

According to the victim's confession, their cellphones were confiscated, then both of them were physically abused and threatened.

"The announcement lasted for about three hours. In fact, we were threatened, our wives and families were also threatened with death," said F.

A and F then reported the incident to Polda Metro Jaya. The report has been received with the number LP/B/1532/III/2025/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya. Until this news was revealed, PT BLI had not yet paid its obligations to PT RPM amounting to Rp6.2 billion.

The police have not provided an official statement regarding the progress of the legal process against the report.
