Jokowi Takes Legal Actions Regarding Allegations Of False Certificates: 'So Everything Is Clear And Gambang'

JAKARTA - Presiden ke-7 Republik Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), angkat bicara soal langkah hukumnya melaporkan tuduhan ijazah palsu ke kepolisian.

Ia menyebut, keputusan tersebut diambil agar polemik yang berkembang bisa dituntaskan secara terang dan terukur.

“Ini sebetulnya masalah ringan, soal tuduhan ijazah palsu. Tapi memang perlu dibawa ke ranah hukum agar semuanya jelas dan gamblang,” kata Jokowi saat ditemui wartawan di Polda Metro Jaya, Rabu, 30 April.

Jokowi menjelaskan, selama menjabat sebagai presiden, ia sempat menganggap isu tersebut akan mereda dengan sendirinya. Namun nyatanya, tudingan itu terus beredar dan bahkan makin masif setelah ia lengser dari kursi kepala negara.

“Dulu kan saya masih menjabat, saya pikir sudah selesai. Ternyata masih berlarut-larut. Jadi ya, lebih baik dibawa ke ranah hukum supaya semuanya jadi terang benderang,” ucapnya.

Meski begitu, Jokowi belum mengungkap secara detail siapa saja pihak yang ia laporkan. Namun, muncul dugaan bahwa salah satunya adalah mantan Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga, Roy Suryo, yang dikenal vokal dalam menyuarakan tudingan tersebut.

“Nanti ditanyakan ke kuasa hukum, detailnya,” tutup Jokowi singkat.

He said the decision was taken so that the growing polemic could be resolved clearly and measurably.

"This is actually a minor matter, about allegations of fake diplomas. But it really needs to be brought to the realm of law so that everything is clear and clear," Jokowi said when met by reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, April 30.

Jokowi explained that during his tenure as president, he had thought that the issue would subside by itself. But in fact, the accusations continued to circulate and even became even more massive after he stepped down from the head of state.

"Before I was still in office, I thought it was over. It turned out that it was still protracted. So yes, it's better to take it to the realm of law so that everything becomes clear," he said.

Even so, Jokowi has not disclosed in detail who he reported. However, there are allegations that one of them is the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Roy Suryo, who is known for his vocals in voicing the allegations.

"Later ask the attorney, the details," concluded Jokowi briefly.
