The Udayana University Chancellor conducted an in-depth investigation into a case of alleged online sexual harassment by creating pornographic content that involved a student with the initials SLKD.
Chairman of the Public Communication Unit of Udayana University, Dewi Pascarani, said the Rectorate was still waiting for the findings of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) to uncover events of inappropriate use of AI technology against female students at Udayana University.
"Currently, the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) is making a conclusion on the victim's assessment and will later provide recommendations to the rectorate for imposing sanctions on the perpetrators," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 29.
He stated that the sanctions and follow-up actions of alleged online sexual harassment will be decided after the preparation of conclusions and recommendations to the rectorate.
He explained that initially the alleged sexual harassment was revealed after reporting from the victim to the Student Representative Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business (DPMFEB) Unud.
Then the DPMFEB reported to the dean (dewan of student representatives) and then the FEB dean reported the incident to the Rectorate.
According to initial information, he said, the perpetrator allegedly took a photo belonging to the student and then edited it into indecent photos and then distributed it on social media.
"From the information I heard he edited a photo on Instagram, a photo of his friends with nasty, nude photos. Only by changing his face photo," he said.
Currently, he said, 37 victims have reported themselves as victims of the perpetrator's actions.
According to Pascarani's statement, Udayana University will provide assistance to the victims and encourage reporting to the authorities.
"PPKS has also provided assistance and recommended reporting to the authorities and our task force will continue to assist victims if this process continues," he said.
Previously, it went viral in social media uploads, including X, which reported allegations of abuse by young men with the initials SL. The young man, who is said to be a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, often edits photos of women into immoral photos.
The photos are thought to have been made using artificial intelligence technology and then distributing them to social media.
