LAHAT - The Lahat Resort Police (Polres), South Sumatra, managed to arrest three of the eight detainees who escaped from the Lahat Police Detention Center (Rutan).
Lahat Police Chief, AKBP Novi Edyanto, said the detainees fled on Sunday, April 27, at around 03.30 WIB by breaking through the wall using a modified screwdriver.
Responding to the incident, the Lahat Police immediately formed a special team and directly led the pursuit effort. After conducting an intensive investigation, the team managed to track down the progress of the whereabouts of the eight escaped prisoners.
The Lahat Police special team finally arrested three detainees on behalf of Andre Suwardi, Irpan Suryadi, and Dika Cahyadi. The three were arrested in two different locations, namely in Gumai Talang District, Lahat Regency, and Belimbing District, Muara Enim Regency, on Sunday (27/4) at around 16.00 WIB.
"The arrests of these three detainees were thanks to information from the public and the hard work of a solid team, even though the suspects tried to hide on the slopes of the mountains belonging to their families," explained AKBP Novi.
Currently, the special Lahat Police team is still conducting investigations and pursuing the five other detainees who have not been caught.
