JAKARTA - Rainy and cloudy weather will dominate parts of cities in Indonesia, including a number of major cities this weekend. This is predicted by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

In an online weather forecast monitored from Jakarta, Saturday, BMKG forecaster Hasalika Nurjana said thick clouds experienced in the Banda Aceh area today, accompanied by light rain in Tanjung Pinang, Padang, Jambi, Pangkal Pinang and Bandarlampung, moderate intensity rain in Bengkulu and Medan as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Pekanbaru and Palembang.

"It is predicted that thick cloudy weather conditions will occur in Serang, Jakarta and Surabaya. As for the areas of Bandung, Semarang and Yogyakarta, light rain is expected," he explained, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 26.

For the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, light rain is predicted by BMKG to occur in the Mataram area with Denpasar and Kupang experiencing cloudy and cloudy weather, respectively.

Hasalika said that there is the potential for rain accompanied by lightning to occur throughout the provincial and major capitals in the Kalimantan region, namely Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin and Samarinda.

Meanwhile, light rain is predicted in the areas of Sulawesi in Mamuju, Kendari and Gorontalo and moderate rain in Manado. BMKG predicts sunny weather in Makassar and foggy or foggy in Palu.

In eastern Indonesia, it is predicted that rain will fall in a number of cities including light intensity in Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari and Jayapura. At the same time, today there is also the potential for moderate rain in Ternate and rain accompanied by lightning in Nabire, Jayawijaya and Merauke.
