Banyumas Regent Reminds Hajj Companion To Focus On Maintaining Elderly During Worship In The Holy Land

BANYUMAS - The Regent of Banyumas, Central Java, Sadewo Tri Lastiono, reminded Hajj assistants to pay extra attention to pilgrims who are prospective for Hajj, especially those who are elderly (elderly), in carrying out worship in the Holy Land.

"Assistors consist of various categories, such as worship assistants, health assistants, and general assistants who are like helpers. All of this is intended so that the congregation can carry out worship properly, especially the elderly," said Regent Sadewo after the release of the Banyumas Regency Hajj Candidates at the Si Panji Hall, Purwokerto, Antara, Friday, April 25.

Based on data from the Banyumas Regency Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Office, the number of pilgrims for this year's Hajj reached 1,305 people, with 715 of them being women. The youngest Hajj pilgrim is 18 years old, while the oldest is 90 years old.

"We hope that all pilgrims for Hajj from Banyumas Regency can perform the pilgrimage in accordance with our tagline, Haji Banyumas Murkat with Bali Together Mabrur Throughout Hayat (Departing Together, Going Home Together, Mabrur Throughout Hayat)," said the Regent.

Regent Sadewo also revealed that he had spoken with his companions to ensure that the elderly received special care and attention. Even so, he mentioned that many elderly pilgrims were actually healthy while in the Holy Land. "The important thing is to be enthusiastic, hopefully everything goes smoothly," he added.

Meanwhile, the Daily Executor (Plh) Head of the Banyumas Ministry of Religion, Edy Sungkowo, explained that of the 1,305 pilgrims of Hajj candidates from Banyumas, 362 of them were elderly.

This elderly congregation will be recorded and given a special sign, such as a code on cards and bracelets, to facilitate monitoring related to health problems while in the Holy Land.

"On average, these pilgrims registered in 2012, meaning they had waited about 13 years to leave. Meanwhile, those who registered this year are estimated to be able to leave in about 33 years," said Edy.

Edy also revealed the schedule for the departure of prospective pilgrims which will be carried out in stages on May 1-2 and May 29, 2025.

Group 04 SOC (100 people) departed from the Pendopo of Sumpiuh District on May 1, at 10.00 WIB.

Group 05 SOC (353 people) departed from GOR Satria Purwokerto on May 1, at 14.00 WIB.

Group 06 SOC (353 people) departed from GOR Satria Purwokerto on May 1, at 21.00 WIB.

Group 07 SOC (353 people) departed from GOR Satria Purwokerto on May 2, at 03.00 WIB.

Group 08 SOC (130 people) departed from GOR Satria Purwokerto on May 2, at 07.30 WIB.

Group 93 (16 people) departed from the Pendopo Si Panji Purwokerto on May 29, at 21.00 WIB.

With careful preparation, it is hoped that all pilgrims from Banyumas can carry out the pilgrimage smoothly, healthily, and return with a large status.
