Chinese Citizen Found Dead Hanging Himself Around Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TANGERANG A foreign national (WNA) from China with the initials HS (48) was found dead hanging on a tree in the Jalan C1 area, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Deputy Chief of Police of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, AKBP Joko Sulistiono, confirmed the incident. He said the victim was a foreigner who should have been scheduled to return to China using Garuda Indonesia on Wednesday night, April 23, 2025, at 23.50 WIB.

"It's true, the victim is a foreigner from China, has the initials HS and is 48 years old," said Joko when confirmed, Thursday, April 24.

However, for unknown reasons, the victim did not board the flight. HS's absence made his family who had been waiting at Shanghai Airport feel anxious.

The family also contacted the office where HS worked to find out his whereabouts. The HS company then coordinated with Soekarno-Hatta Airport security officers, including Pospol Terminal 3 and Avsec (Aviation Security).

After receiving a report from the company, the officers immediately carried out patrols and searches. The victim was finally found dead hanging at Taman C1," Joko explained.

At the scene, the police found evidence in the form of a blue mine that the victim allegedly used to end his life.

"Currently we are examining a number of witnesses, both from the scene and from the victim's work environment, to find out if there are other problems behind this incident," he added.

HS is known to work as a technician at a foreign company in the Tangerang area. His body has been taken to the Kramatjati Police Hospital, Jakarta, for the post-mortem process.
