The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said Ridwan Kamil was dragged into allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements for PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) because he had served as a commissioner.
KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur Rahayu explained that Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil was automatically the commissioner of the bank when he served as Governor of West Java for the 2018-2019 period. He is suspected of knowing internal affairs.
"Each local government, the first level local government has a bank. Well, then the governor becomes the commissioner there. Well, that's the connection," Asep told reporters quoted on Thursday, April 24.
This condition makes the KPK will examine a number of witnesses, including Ridwan Kamil. "That (information, ed) will be investigated," said Asep.
"That's why we asked for information from other witnesses and then opened electronic evidence. That's what we want to know. Is it indeed with the knowledge or knowledge (of the procurement, ed). Then it will be confirmed from the statements (which exist, ed)," he continued.
Ridwan Kamil's involvement emerged in this case after his house was ransacked in March. Investigators also confiscated a Royal Enfield motorbike allegedly linked to the case.
