TANGERANG Ahead of the 2025 Hajj season, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police (Soetta) will increase supervision to anticipate the departure of non-procedural pilgrims or dark worshipers'.
"We will tighten supervision to anticipate the presence of illegal worshipers," said Soetta Airport Police Chief, Kombes Pol Ronald Sipayung, Wednesday (23/4).
Ronald explained that this step was taken after his party received information about prospective pilgrims trying to go for Hajj using a non-hajj visa through Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"We received reports of a number of prospective passengers leaving for Hajj using non-hajj visas such as work visas or Umrah visas," he said.
For this reason, the police will coordinate with the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Office in tightening the inspection of congregation travel documents.
"We are also coordinating with Soetta Airport Immigration to tighten supervision of the departure of prospective pilgrims," added Ronald.

Saudi Arabia Confirms Hajj Ban On Non-Hajj Visa
The Saudi Arabian government has previously confirmed that the pilgrimage can only be carried out by foreigners who have official Hajj visas. Any other form of visa, such as a Umrah visa or work visa, cannot be used to perform the pilgrimage.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that Hajj visas can only be obtained through the official Nusuk platform. Any violation of this provision is considered a violation of the law in the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"If anyone offers a pilgrimage on a non-hajj visa, it is a form of fraud," the ministry said in an official statement.
10 Non-Procedural Hajj Pilgrims Failed to Depart Previously, the police managed to thwart the departure of 10 non-procedural pilgrims at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. They are known to want to fly to the Holy Land using a work visa.
"They will go to perform the pilgrimage, but use a work visa," explained Kombes Ronald in his statement, Friday (18/4).
Currently, the police are still coordinating with the Ministry of Religion to handle the case further.
Kasatreskrim Polres Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Kompol Yandri Mono, added that the disclosure of this case began when the group was about to fly using Malindo Air on the Jakarta route. After an inspection, it was discovered that they used a work visa or an amil visa.
"Their departure was postponed because it was suspected that they would carry out the pilgrimage with visas that did not comply with the provisions," Yandri explained.
