Victims Of Harassment Of Doctor AY In Malang Add 1, YLBHI Strives To Heal Psychological Trauma

The number of victims of alleged sexual harassment by doctor AYP against his patient at Persada Hospital Malang increased by one person with the initials A (30).

Legal adviser A, Tri Eva Oktaviani, said the victim per day officially reported the alleged sexual harassment by AY to the local police.

"We from YLBHI LBH Surabaya Pos Malang accompanied victims of alleged physical sexual harassment by unscrupulous doctors who had previously gone viral," Eva said at the Malang City Police Headquarters, Tuesday, April 22, as reported by Antara.

Currently, the victim is in the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Malang City Police for questioning by police officers.

Broadly speaking, the alleged sexual harassment experienced by A occurred in 2023. The location is in a private hospital the same as the incident that happened to the victim with the initials QAR.

"The hospital is the same," he said.

At that time, AY examined A in the hospital's emergency installation room (IGD) with the curtain position tightly closed. The alleged perpetrator was also not accompanied by a nurse when examining victim A.

"Not accompanied by nurses and curtains in closed conditions so that it allows other people not to be able to see it," he said.

AY allegedly conducted an examination of A, but did not comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) at the hospital.

"When it touched the intimacy area of the victim, the alleged perpetrator did not submit a request for permission first to inspect the victim's area of intimacy," he said.

Eva stated that the YLBHI LBH Surabaya Pos Malang has now linked the victim to a psychological partner to help cure the victim's trauma due to the incident.

"We also recommend to the police to provide psychological assistance to the victims. There was an offer from the hospital regarding psychological recovery, but the victim was not willing due to trauma," he said.

From the data collected, A is the second victim to report alleged sexual harassment by a doctor at a private hospital in Malang City with the initials AY, after another victim with the initials QAR.
