Family Welcomes The Arrival Of The Bodies Of Brimob Members Who Die In Crossfire With KKB

PALEMBANG - The family in Palembang, South Sumatra, welcomed the body of Bharatu (Anumaerta) I Komang Wira Natha, a Brimob personnel who died in a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Ilaga, Papua.

The family could not hold back tears when the coffin of Bharatu (Posthumous) I Komang Wira Natha would be put into the hearse (automatic train), Wednesday, April 28 evening.

The body of Bharatu (Posthumous) I Komang Wira Natha arrived at SMB II Palembang International Airport at 19.00 WIB using the Batik Air airline. The South Sumatra Police Chief led the handover ceremony to the family.

"We are grieving, today's best son will return to the motherland," said Inspector General Eko Hendri during the mandate of his release.

He also handed over compensation from Asabri to family representatives while expressing deep condolences for the death of I Komang Wira Natha who passed Brimob in 2019. Wira Natha served in Company III Battalion C Polda South Sumatra Regional Police.

I Komang Wira Natha died during a gun battle with the KKB led by Lekagak Telenggen at the Lumawi Headquarters, Makko Village, North Ilaga District, Tuesday, April 27.

I Komang had only been on duty for about three months when he died facing the KKB. For his country's defense services, the Chief of Police raised his rank from Bharada to Bharatu (Posthumously).

"He (I Komang) joined the Nemangkawi Ops Task Force from January to June," said Kaminops Nemangkawi 2021 Kombes Ardiansyah Daulay after handing over the bodies.

Two members who were also hit by the KKB shot when I Komang died, Ipda Anton and Bripka M Syaifudin, are now in good condition.
